In 2007, the team at Lion Technologies had an opportunity to put together a solution for a local school district to automate parent-teacher conference scheduling. It's not as audacious as putting a man on the moon or as stereotypical as the white picket fence. But it is important.

Traditional media outlets have been decrying the state of our public school system for years. Schools are overburdened by overflowing student populations, overworked teachers, and underwhelming budgets. Not only is increased efficiency and productivity critical to improving our children's education, parent involvement is critical as well. Research has shown that students tend to perform better and have fewer behavioral problems when their parents are actively involved in their schools.
